Version

Introduction

This tab is used to define the versions of the Configurations. By default only one version is available, we call that version the Base version. You can not define any conditions to the Base version, because it is always executed if no other Version is True. SoftRules® goes from the last defined Version to the first version in search for a Version that's True. If it finds a Version, that will be the Current Version. Every Table, Function, Validation or Userinterface can have instances of Versions. By default all are coupled to the Base Version. For using the Versions see Functions, Tables, Validations and Userinterfaces.

Add version

With the Add version button a new version can be defined. After this the Version dialog appears:

ID

The Version ID numbers automatically and can not be changed.

Description

The description of the Version.

Enabled

Using this you can switch the Version on and off. By default it is on.

Conditions

By double clicking the Conditions part you can edit the Conditions which make a Version True.

Attention!
When a Version should be True at a certain date, you are advised not to add a stop-date. Because always only one version can be the Current Version, the last added Version that's True will override all previously defined versions.
If you use Versions to define a period for actions that should be available in a certain period, you can (or have to) define a start and stop date obviously.

Edit version

Using the Edit version button a selected Version can be changed.

Delete version

Using the Delete version button a selected Version can be deleted.
